This June, Nonprofit VOTE was pleased to join the Philanthropy Southeast network for an important conversation on “Philanthropy as a Catalyst for Voter Engagement” with philanthropic leaders from the southeastern United States.
Nonprofit VOTE Executive Director Brian Miller presented the best practices and case studies found in our toolkit. After the presentation, Brian participated in a robust panel discussion with Sumita Keller, the Senior Program Partner for Policy and Advocacy at The Healing Trust, located in Tennessee. We discussed the barriers that funders face in getting started in voter engagement work, and how to move past that to build the buy-in, infrastructure and support to invest in nonprofits conducting nonpartisan voter engagement.
We’re grateful to S.E. Spencer and the Philanthropy Southeast team for hosting this conversation and are continuing to offer opportunities to bring these conversations to other regions and networks through the county.
